On a sunny day in May, the 4th of 2023 to be exact, Reona and Abe embarked on their ‘happily ever after’ at the enchanting Walt Disney World Wedding Pavilion and Grand Floridian in Orlando, Florida. Their love story, which began during their college years at the University of Maryland, took a magical turn as they exchanged vows amidst the fairy-tale setting of Disney.
Their paths first crossed in 2013 through the Japanese club at their university. Despite knowing about each other’s existence, their first real conversation didn’t happen until later that year. A heated debate over a food suggestion at a club planning meeting was the unexpected spark that ignited their relationship.
This initial argument revealed their shared Japanese heritage and led to them spending more time together. By the end of the school year, they officially started dating. Abe proposed to Reona on Christmas Day 2020, after they finished watching the Christmas lights, turning the holiday season into a celebration of their love.
When asked what they love most about each other, their answer is simple yet profound. They share a love for the same type of food, work well together, and don’t shy away from being goofy. They support each other in every way possible, trying to share in each other’s hobbies and interests. Their families too have embraced their union, loving and enjoying the company of their new family member.
Their Disney wedding style was a unique blend of destinations, break dancing, Disney magic, and Japanese culture. The day began with the couple getting ready together, a special moment where Abe helped Reona into her wedding gown. These intimate moments were captured beautifully, creating memories for a lifetime.
Their ceremony included a traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony, participated in by Reona’s mother and the couple, adding a touch of their cultural heritage to their Disney wedding. The celebration continued in the Grand Floridian ballrooms with their closest family and friends.
The reception was a lively affair with breakdancing on the dance floor, boba tea for guests to enjoy, and fun Japanese traditions sprinkled throughout the night. It was an incredible day, filled with laughter, love, and magical moments.
Reona and Abe’s Disney wedding day was a celebration of their unique love story, blending cultural traditions with the magic of Disney. As they embark on their new journey together, we wish them a lifetime of happiness, shared meals, mutual support, and endless adventures. Here’s to Reona and Abe, a couple whose love story is as enchanting as their wedding day.
