Brittney and Jake Stowe celebrated their wedding day in style, and with some pretty crazy things happening behind the scenes. Their wedding was scheduled for October 7th, 2016 and if anybody does not know the significance of that date for the state of Florida, let me share with you one name.
Matthew.
Hurricane Matthew made landfall in Florida on October 7th, 2016. The Mansion was closed, power outages were significant, trees were downed, and so much more. When Brittney finally called to tell me the wedding had been pushed back I knew she was devastated. However, with the help of some amazing vendors, friends, and family, Brittney and Jake were married at Sydonie Mansion in Mt. Dora, Florida on October 8th instead. When I arrived at the venue the power trucks were following me in down the old dirt road. The hair and makeup team were working diligently off of power provided by the gas powered generators. The florist delivered his beautiful bouquets, and we started in on capturing her beautiful day.
The weather was perfect. There were only a few puffy clouds in the sky and there was a light breeze in the air. Brittney and Jake became Mr. and Mrs. Stowe that day, and it could not have been more perfect for both of them. Thank you for allowing me to photograph your wedding day and having me party with you all night long. The line dancing, the cute little kids break dancing on the wooden dance floor, it was all perfect. Even though it happened a day late, it could not have gone any better.
Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Stowe.
